Last Friday night, my boyfriend and I traveled to the East Village in New York City to let him try this delightful dessert place called Spot Dessert Bar. Created by cousins Chai & Ace, Spot Dessert combines Asian and American flavors into delectable confections. We got there around 7:30 pm and were seated right away.
It was hard for us to decide on which treat we would like to eat. After trying to choose one dessert, we picked the 3 Tapas selection. With the 3 Tapas choice, we were able to get not one dish, but three. My boyfriend got The Cookie Camp; I got The Harvest and for the both of us, The Matcha Lava. All of these dessert dishes were fulfilling, and each had a different flavor profile. The Cookie Camp taste like you’re at a campfire, roasting marshmallows for an S’more. The Harvest transported me to tea time in Spring with the mixture of berries and the side of raspberry sorbet. Matcha Lava is perfect for anyone that has an obsession with green tea. They also have other dessert options like cookies and macaroons.
Spot Dessert Bar has two locations in the East Village, which are a couple of storefronts away from one another. One in Midtown, New York City and one in Queens. They get packed quickly after 8 pm, so I suggest to get there early especially if you have a large group of people. Visit the Spot Dessert Bar website for more information!
