As a member of Versailles and leader as well as composer of Jupiter, guitarist HIZAKI is active all over the world. His new guitar instrumental album was released on August 3rd.
We received many requests to do an interview with HIZAKI from our overseas customers, and were kindly given the chance to do so!
We asked all of you to send in your questions and he answered them for you questionnaire-style.
(Actually we just asked him to choose ten questions he would like to answer, but upon seeing how many fans sent in their questions he answered about 30 questions for you! We translated all your questions and messages into Japanese and made sure he receives them!♪)
1. Where do you get your stage outfits? (Australia)
My stage outfit for Rosario was made by Rion.
(editor’s note: Rion is an established costume maker that has worked with many Visual kei artists.)
2. Will you go on a world tour as a solo guitarist? (Taiwan)
I really want to, so everyone please invite me!
3. Which artist has been inspiring you the most since you’ve been in the Visual kei scene? (Thailand)
Probably X JAPAN I guess.
4. I would like to ask about your gear. I’ve loved your sound ever since Versailles! Do you have a secret recipe to make your gear produce this fantastic sound? Please give us some advice on how to make our guitar sound great. (Indonesia)
It is vital to play guitar with your soul!
5. Can you talk a bit about how you started playing guitar? Why did you start, where did you learn etc. What is your advice to aspiring players? (Czech Republic)
I started because I originally liked the violin. My advice for improving your skill is to picture yourself playing guitar well.
6. Are you going to go on another world tour? If yes, would you like to come to Finland? Also, what are your favorite songs from Versailles and Jupiter? (Finland)
I love Finland.
For Versailles it’s Faith&Decision, and among Jupiter’s songs I like The History of Genesis.
7. What is the inspiration for your music? Why did you choose the title “Rosario” for your album? Are you going to go on another world tour? Please come to France! (France)
Since the album deals with the themes of “prayer” and “salvation”, Rosario was a very fitting title. I want to go back home to France…
8. What has been the best experience for you on stage so far? (Mexico)
When going abroad, to be able to think that our fans patiently waited for us is what I’m most happy about.
9. Will your new album “Rosario” be available in the USA? (USA)
I may be able to release it in Europe, but in the US it’s difficult. I’m doing my best to be able to release it there someday though!
10. I’d like to know what your favorite Lolita style is and what you like the most about this Lolita style. (The Netherlands)
I think if the style suits you, having self-confidence will translate into beauty and cuteness.
11. Do you like dark or milk chocolate best? Do you like it best cold or at room temperature? (Norway)
I usually don’t eat it but when I do I prefer chocolate that isn’t very sweet I guess.
12. The dresses you wear on stage are beautiful, but they look very warm. Is it difficult to wear these while playing long concerts? How much time do you spend on make-up before each show?
I spend about an hour on make-up. My dresses are extremely hot and difficult to play in, but that is part of being HIZAKI.
13. Won’t you come to Chile with Versailles or Jupiter? We all love you, Princess❤︎ (Chile)
