Fandom or themed coords sometimes land too close to the cosplay area. Doing something inspired by your favourite character is not wrong! But it’s important to make a distinction between your inspired coords and your replicate-the-look coords.
Today, I’m going to show you three examples of inspired coords that work well as a fashion instead of a costume!
Of course you could just go on and buy Secret Honey‘s version of Belle’s dress. But, if you’re up to a challenge, try pairing a blue JSK with an apron. Getting the colors right will surely help you out. Making a nice ribbon to tie your hair with is a nice plus for this coord!
Alice is the easiest character to pull off in Lolita. There are so many different dresses inspired by this character that it’s actually harder to prepare a coord without one of those pieces! Again, try playing with her color palette and you’re good to go!
Corset is Angelic Pretty, OP is Meta and shoes are IW
This coord is a bit unusual, I know, but I hope you get the idea: try playing with the princess’ palette and see if you can match the colors and pieces as to recreate her sillouette. Snow White has a yellow skirt under a blue bodice, so you may try to mix and match those pieces from your wardrobe. If you have apple themed pieces, that’s even better! You can use the princesses’ motifs to make nice references on your coord!
