Indie Brand Review: Short Cakes Clay Bakery

Short Cakes Clay Bakery is a brand that specializes in delicious looking clay food accessories. Their items include hair accessories, necklaces, rings, and earrings and they continue to add to their collection.

I was fortunate to win an item in a giveway hosted by the brand. I also purchased an item from their Etsy shop and both accessories were shipped together. The items were purchased on March 22 and arrived on March 26 (to Los Angeles, California). The items were securely shipped in a bubble mailer. My jewelry was also packaged in jewelry boxes for extra security and a satin bag to protect them when not in use. The boxes would also make for cute gift box if you’re not buying for yourself. 

The item I won was the “Donut Sakura” necklace. The pendant is a clay donut, topped with a pink “glaze”, tiny sprinkle beads, and delicate cherry blossoms molded out of clay. It hangs on a 26 inch gold chain with a tiny Eiffel Tower charm. It closes in the back with a small lobster claps. The details of this piece are stunning and really shine in person. While the donut is a little sweet for my wardrobe, the piece is lovely and I’m excited to find ways to coordinate with pieces I have. 

Purchase

I purchased the “Milk and Honey Macaron” necklace. The pendant is a cream filled macaron in a warm honey color, topped with a swirl of whipped cream and a bee charm that has a loop to attach the piece to the chain. The chain is a 26 inch long gold chain with a rhinestone studded honey comb set into the links. I LOVE this piece. The macaron looks good enough to eat and I can’t wait to pair it with other bee/honey accessories for a sweet classic look. (They also have a pair of matching earrings!)

Final Thoughts
